Goktug Tankut Cinar

About Me

I am a second year PhD student at CNEL. I am from Turkey. I hold a B.S. in electrical and electronics engineering from Bilkent University, Turkey.

My Research Interests

Our project focuses on building a model for the visual/auditory cortex to obtain hierarchical representations of sensory data. My past focus was to come up with a new filter motivated by the cost function of the Kalman Filter; yet the new filter would use the information theoretic learning principles devised in the CNEL such as Correntropy. With this approach the goal is to engage more information available in the observations to the estimation process than a second order cost function would allow.
